The Factory of Threads, idyllically situated at the foot of Plauen's old town, invites visitors to immerse themselves in the history of the Vogtland textile industry, which shaped the entire region. In a symbiosis of listed buildings and state-of-the-art exhibition design, visitors can learn all kinds of interesting facts about the local textile industry, its development and background. Multimedia stations invite visitors to try out, discover and learn. In addition to the famous Plauener Spitze®, the tour of the permanent exhibition, which covers over 1000 m², sheds light on the life and work of past generations as well as current and future production. Changing special exhibitions complement the offer, as do regular guided tours and target group-oriented educational programs for every age group.
