Radebeul - The Saxon Nice

Welcome to the heart of the Saxon Wine Route, where the picturesque river landscape around Radebeul is characterized by first-class wineries. Names such as Schloss Wackerbarth and Hoflößnitz are represented here, as are numerous small wineries that welcome visitors with a taste for wine. Enjoy a glass of fine wine and take in the breathtaking views of lovingly restored winegrowers' houses nestled gently against the steep vineyards of the Elbe Valley. It is not without reason that Radebeul is also known as the “Saxon Nice”. The town in the immediate vicinity of the state capital Dresden invites you to take a walk along the Saxon Wine Trail or a ride on the over 130-year-old, steam-powered Lößnitzgrundbahn. A cozy wine evening in the historic village green of Altkötzschenbroda rounds off the day perfectly. Radebeul is dedicated to preserving the memory of Karl May, whose heroes Winnetou and Old Shatterhand were “born” here. The Karl May Museum and the annual Karl May Festival in the Lößnitzgrund are a must for fans.
